Jaywalker Bar @ NY Distilling

Website Design and Development + the easiest imaginable website management workflow: Via Email.

When New York Distilling Co opened Jaywalker — their new cocktail bar and event space in Bushwick — we made sure the website opened with it. Same day. Not a “coming soon” placeholder, but a complete, living site: the cocktails, the calendar, the fourteen-year story of the rye, and a few things humming quietly in the background that almost no bar ever gets.

Doing it for the Team

We loved building this for Jamie Gordon and Rachel Harrison Communications, the kind of PR partner that makes a launch land. The story RHC tells and the home we build are far stronger together — and we’d jump at the chance to do it again for the brands in their world: restaurants, spirits, hospitality, and anyone with a great story to tell.

Task

WordPress Design Development, SEO, AIO, GEO, backend integration with LLM API for fully agentic workflows

  • Strategy

Building a website for a Brooklyn-based bar that can be fully managed... via Chat.

  • Design

UI/UX Design, Art Direction, LLM AI Integration

  • Client

    New York Distilling Co

The Challenge

Scalable means "manageable". How do you make content management easy for a bar team?

the website has an LLM built into it, so communication happens directly between bar manager and website. The LLM is the communication bridge.

Before After
Modern Approach

How does a website's content get into ChatGPT?

This is the modern part. Guests don’t only Google “cocktail bar in Bushwick” anymore — they ask ChatGPT, or read the AI answer at the top of Google.

We built the site so Jaywalker shows up in both: clean, structured details about where it is, what it offers, its hours, and its private-event space — the things a search engine and an AI assistant need in order to recommend it.

Most bars are invisible to this. Jaywalker isn’t.

Project Breakdown

A weekly magazine column that can write itself?!

Every week, the site automatically drafts a short piece — in the bar’s voice — connecting the past seven days in New York to what’s on at Jaywalker that weekend.

A staffer gives it a quick read, edit, and publishes.

It keeps the site fresh every single week with almost no staff time — exactly what keeps a venue visible online.

The same system refreshes other parts of the website as well based on content created by the Jaywalker and NY Distilling teams.

Built a new UI/UX

Playful, stylish visual design matching the bar's vibrant energy.

Fast, flawless on phones (where most of a bar’s traffic lives), accessible to everyone, and structured so search engines trust it.
